Beaded Flower Gallery

Carrie Stalcup of Kentucky created this beautiful wedding bouquet of
roses, Siberian irises and daisies. The center yellow flower and 3
large blue are Siberian irises designed by Carrie. The roses and
daisies are based on
Virginia Nathanson's patterns, and the snapdragons
are directly from Virginia Osterland's book. This bouquet is round
and about 9 1/2" in diameter without the bows.
Carrie generously shares these tips for assembling a bouquet. Make more flowers than you think you'll need! This one is a hand-tied, so start with a large flower and then tape the other flowers around and out. Take each next flower and hold it up next to the bouquet to see where you should bend the stem so that it fits close (no gaps). Work in circles around that center flower to keep it balanced, attatching one stem at a time as close as you can without the blooms overlapping too much. Each flower and leaf is on a separate stem for this, because it's held by the stems rather than in a bouquet holder. The flowers are pretty symmetrical in placement, but that's really a matter of preferance as long as you keep it balanced. To submit your photo to the gallery just send me email. |
